As a country, we need to celebrate our local food producers, recognise their environmental stewardship and reduce the burdens they face. Farming is at the heart of so many of our communities across Rutland, Stamford, South Kesteven and the Harborough villages, and I have been passionate about standing up for our local farmers who work so tirelessly to feed our nation.
Whether it's campaigning for national protections for agricultural land from solar developments, or securing increased fines for fly-tipping and new criminal offences for hare coursing and livestock worrying, I will always fight for our farmers and to protect our farmland.
Labour's Family Farm Tax is jeopardising generations of farming and threatening our food security. I will continue to do all I can to put pressure on the Government to reverse it, and defend our nation's food security.
