On BBC Question Time, Alicia Kearns MP raised the plight of local pubs and the hospitality industry.

Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:

"Four Hospitality Businesses a DAY are closing in the UK.

"Local pubs like the wonderful Bertie Arms in Uffington and the Olive Branch in Clipsham are facing staggering increases in their business rates due to the Government's hike on rates on top of NICs, minimum wage increases and energy prices.

"If the Chancellor doesn't listen now, rising business rates may pull the last pint for good."
