Alicia Kearns MP held her fourth public meeting to update residents on local council re-organisation, following the submission of the first proposals by councils to Government.
At the meeting at The Stamford Arts Centre Alicia explained what proposals local councils have put forward to Government and the implications for the future of local government in our communities.
A straw poll at the conclusion of the meeting showed that all bar nine attendees supported the North Kesteven, South Kesteven, South Holland and Rutland Council model.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
“These public meetings have been an important opportunity for me to hear your feedback on these plans put forward to Government, so I can ensure your views are listened to in negotiations.
“There have been a range of views, however my straw polls have showed residents who attended were almost unanimously supportive of a three-unitary model for Lincolnshire which would see Rutland join South Kesteven, North Kesteven, and South Holland.”
