Alicia Kearns MP Opens Voting for Rutland and Stamford's Favourite Independent Shop Awards

Voting for Rutland and Stamford’s Favourite Independent Shop Awards 2024-5 is now open.

Over 250 nominations were received for businesses across Rutland, Stamford, South Kesteven and the Harborough villages. Due to the volume of nominations, two additional categories were added: favourite bookshop and favourite children and babies shop.

Voting closes on Friday 31st January 2025, before the winners are announced in February.

The final 15 categories for voting are as follows:

  • Beauty, pampering and wellness
  • Bookshop
  • Butcher
  • Café
  • Children and babies
  • Clothing and accessories
  • Craft and hobby
  • Farm and produce 
  • Food and drink
  • Garden centre
  • Gifts and stationery
  • Homeware
  • Pharmacy
  • Village shop
  • Special commendation

Votes can be cast here.

Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:

“During the quieter months following the busy festive shopping period it’s even more important we give our wonderful local independent shops the support and recognition they deserve. 

“These awards are my small way of celebrating their hard work and contribution to our communities – they make our high streets and villages what they are! 

“Good luck to all the deserving nominees – I look forward to crowning our overall 2024 winner!”
