Alicia Kearns MP has secured a counter-terror police review of LuaLua TV, accused of being the propaganda arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Alicia and Nigel Huddleston MP wrote to Sir Mark Rowley, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, to ask whether police are investigating the channel for “promoting proscribed terrorist groups”.
LuaLua TV broadcasts online from its headquarters in London, regularly praising senior Hamas and Hezbollah commanders. The TV channel has previously described the former head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, and former head of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, as heroes and martyrs. It also promotes Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps propaganda.
The Telegraph's report on the letter can be read here.

Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
“The IRGC has no place in the UK, nor does the promotion or glorification of its partners Hamas and Hezbollah.
“Ofcom now needs to act decisively. The UK must not become a safe haven for extremist propaganda, and any outlet found to be promoting proscribed terrorist groups must be shut down immediately.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said:
“The matter referred to us has been passed on to specialist officers within Counter Terrorism Policing London. As with any such referral, the officers, who are based within the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU), are now in the process of assessing the details within the referral.
“Should any potential offences be identified, then, depending on the nature of the offences, the CTIRU will either refer the matter to the relevant investigation team within Counter Terrorism Policing, or to local policing to consider for further investigation.”
