Alicia Kearns MP has submitted her objection to National Grid's consultation on proposals for a new 60km electricity transmission line from Weston Marsh to Leicestershire East.

Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:

"I have received an overwhelming number of representations from members of our communities, who I will be working with to oppose the plans and urge National Grid to put forward alternatives - namely subsea or undergrounds cabling."
