Alicia Kearns MP has called on the Government to re-establish the Listed Places of Worship Scheme and recognise the importance of protecting these important institutions.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
"Protecting our places of worship means protecting our history, our values and our communities. We’ve called for the Listen Places of Worship scheme to be re-established after the Government cut it. Not least because we have seven churches in our communities on the at-risk register.
"We would re-establish this important fund. It is vital we preserve and maintain these places of faith, and much-loved community assets, for future generations to enjoy."
