Stamford’s Temporary Banking Hub has officially opened, after Alicia Kearns MP helped secure the Hub for the town and worked with LINK and Cash Access UK to find a suitable location.
The Temporary Banking Hub is now open at the Stamford Arts Centre, 27 St Mary’s Street, Stamford, PE9 2DL
The Hub will help ensure residents and local businesses across Stamford and surrounding rural communities continue to have access to cash and face-to-face banking services.
Customers can access a range of everyday banking services, including cash withdrawals and deposits for personal and business banking.
Community Bankers from participating banks will also be available on dedicated days throughout the week to provide more specialist banking support.
Alicia helped secure the Banking Hub for Stamford following the announcement of Lloyds’ branch closure. She worked closely with LINK and Cash Access UK, meeting those responsible for the Hub, taking them around Stamford to consider potential locations and helping to secure a suitable temporary home, while continuing to work with them to identify a permanent location.
The Temporary Banking Hub will continue to serve local communities while Cash Access UK works towards establishing Stamford’s permanent Banking Hub.

“I am absolutely delighted Stamford’s Banking Hub is now open. Access to cash and face-to-face banking remains incredibly important, particularly in rural communities like ours were travelling to the next nearest branch can mean a significant journey.
“I promised our town a banking hub, and I’m overjoyed to see the doors open at Stamford Arts Centre.
“Our banks may be changing the way they operate, but people still need somewhere they can speak to someone, deposit cash and get help with their banking. For our wonderful independent businesses and older residents in particular, having somewhere locally to deposit and access cash really matters.
“This is an important step, and I will keep working with Cash Access UK as they secure the permanent home for Stamford’s Banking Hub.”
