The final consultation on two of the A1 central reservation crossings proposed to close has now finished (numbers 41 and 44 on the map below).
Work to close the crossings will begin in July.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
"Following my petitioning of National Highways to close the dangerous A1 central reservation crossings, I’m relieved the first 13 closures between Little Ponton and South Witham will soon take place.
"Larger gaps across Lincolnshire and Rutland are being considered for closure in the next phase of the review of all central reservation crossings I secured.
"There is still more to be done which I will continue to work on, but in the meantime I’m pleased National Highways is listening to our concerns and taking this important first step to make the A1 safer."
