Final Voting Open for Rutland and Stamford's Favourite Independent Shop Awards

Voting open

Final voting is now open to find Rutland and Stamford’s Favourite Independent Shop.

Over 1,000 nominations were received for businesses across Rutland, Stamford, South Kesteven and the Harborough villages.

Voting is open here until 12pm on Friday 20th February, before the winners are announced in March.

The 20 categories open for voting are as follows:

  • Art and antiques

  • Beauty, pampering and wellness

  • Bookshop
  • Butcher
  • Café
  • Children and babies
  • Clothing and accessories
  • Craft and hobby
  • Farm and produce
  • Florists
  • Food and drink
  • Garden
  • Gifts and stationery
  • Hairdressers
  • Homeware
  • Music and musical instrument shop
  • Pets
  • Pharmacy
  • Village shop
  • Special commendation

Due to demand, the category 'Art and antiques’ has been added. 

Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:

“Following the busy Christmas period, the quieter months can be a tough time for our independent shops.

“That’s why I’m delighted to open final voting for my annual awards – a chance to offer your support, say thank you, and celebrate the local businesses who make our communities such wonderful places to live and visit.”
