Alicia Kearns MP welcomed over eight hundred job seekers, young people, students and residents to her inaugural Job and Careers Fair on Friday (23rd January).
The event held at the Stamford Arts Centre brought together over thirty employers, training providers and job support services to showcase the wide range of employment and apprenticeship options available to adults and young people locally.
Companies and organisations in attendance included the Police, plastics manufacturers, the military, haulage, engineering, food producers, events management, education and social care employers.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, said:
“It was a real privilege to bring together so many exciting opportunities in one place and to see so many people leave feeling inspired and hopeful about their future.
“Hearing from residents who discovered opportunities they hadn’t considered before, and even found their dream job, is exactly why events like this matter.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Zeeco, Ellis Cook and Stamford College, whose support helped make this event such a success.”
