Lloyds Bank has announced the closure of its Stamford branch in early 2026.
Statement from Alicia Kearns MP, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford:
"Residents will be frustrated following yesterday’s announcement Stamford’s Lloyds Bank branch will be closing in early 2026.
"Tomorrow I have a meeting with the LINK Group to discuss how we progress with establishing a Banking Hub in Stamford.
"I am a big backer of hubs - our one in Oakham has been a great success, offering a cash point and five different banks operating from the same site - increasing the number of banks available to residents locally.
"I will also be getting more information from Lloyds about the next steps, but I have been told all staff affected will be offered alternative roles, and the branch will stay open until a Banking Hub is up and running.
"I will keep you all updated following my meeting."
